Exploratory Interaction

With the research theme Exploratory Interaction we refer to the research and development of  interactive interfaces and artefacts for a domain that we do not yet know that well. Motivated by for example technological possibilities, people’s practices, design opportunities, or novel interaction techniques, we go through a process of interaction design exploration and actively embrace surprising encounters as a means to move forward. This often means that we do not follow a prescribed methodology, but work with, adjust, and come up with methods that support the design research process. In this research theme we thus aim at better understanding complex processes of designing often novel and daring applications of technology.
